EX Series Ethernet Switches

These carrier-class switching solutions are for converged enterprise branch offices, campuses, and data centers, as well as for service provider deployments. They address escalating demands for high availability, unified communications, mobility, and virtualization within enterprise networks.

Technology

Multi-Chassis LAG, Virtual Chassis, Virtual Chassis Fabric and Junos Fusion architectures on select models enable multiple interconnected EX Series campus switches to operate as a single device, reducing operational expense and management complexity.

Virtual Chassis Technology enables economical deployments of switches that deliver network availability where installation might otherwise be cost prohibitive or physically impossible. Benefits include simplification (of managed devices, image upgrade and design flexibility), resiliency (with robust design, high performance and convergence when something changes) and investment protection (larger scale, backward compatibility and cost). Available in select Juniper EX Series and QFX Series Ethernet Switches.

Juniper EX3400

Virtual Chassis Fabric consists of pure fabric (cabling, optics, spine nodes, leaf nodes, and includes one Licence Model – Base, Virtual, Advanced) and metafabrics: foundation technology, underlay and overlay architecture, service virtualization and integrated management.

Junos Fusion is one technology with many usages. Junos Fusion Provider Edge can maximize the edge router slot utilization.

Juniper EX4600

 Junos Fusion Data Center allows simplified management plug-and-play. And Junos Fusion Enterprise allows simplified management of wiring closets. It can be deployed across a building, or multiple buildings, to connect large numbers of devices in a fabric that can be managed as a single device.

Junos OS in the Data Center

On data center platforms, Junos OS is disaggregated and runs on a virtualized Linux environment in which containerized applications and other virtualized guest operating systems can co-exist on the same CPU complex.

In addition to the inherent benefits of a virtualized environment, these systems provide a protected Linux environment for system interaction and an open platform for third-party application integration. Low-level APIs improve programmability and telemetry functions and are exposed for application development and automation, vastly improving your access to the control and data planes.

QFX Series Switches

QFX Series switches are high-performance, high-density platforms that satisfy the needs of today’s most demanding enterprise and service provider environments. Designed for top-of-rack, end-of-row, and spine-and-core aggregation deployments in modern data centers, QFX Series switches can be deployed as 10GbE, 40GbE or 100GbE access, spine, core or aggregation devices in Virtual Chassis, Virtual Chassis Fabric, Multi-Chassis LAG and Junos Fusion architectures.
